European soccer is abuzz with stories of loan players sniping at their parent clubs.

It started with Portugal's João Felix (24-Barcelona) making inflammatory comments ahead of his side's match against Spanish side Atletico Madrid on Thursday, which he joined on loan last winter.

"Obviously, I like Barcelona's style," Felix told US sports outlet ESPN on February 2. I'm sure the Atletico players want to play attacking football too. I would be lying if I said otherwise."

Felix's falling out with Atletico Madrid began when he was pushed into the rotation for the 2022-2023 season. He publicly feuded with coach Diego Simeone, which led to his departure to Chelsea in the English Premier League later that year. This summer, he expressed his desire to leave for Barcelona, and once again rejected a loan move.

Hakim Ziyech, 30, who has switched to Turkish side Galatasaray, has made no secret of his frustration with his hometown club. In an interview with Dutch publication Bootbal International, Ziyech criticized Chelsea's excessive acquisition of players. 토토사이트

"Chelsea could form three teams with their best players," he said. "It was difficult for the players to have 40 players in one team," he said.

Owner Todd Boley's £1 billion ($1.654 billion) investment in Chelsea since taking over in 2022 hasn't helped the club's fortunes. In fact, Chelsea finished the 2022-2023 season in 12th place and are currently in 10th place this season.

Ziyech's disappointment with Chelsea led to a comedy of errors that saw his move to Paris Saint-Germain fall through due to a mistake in the club's paperwork, and he spent one more season at Chelsea before leaving for Galatasaray.

"I could talk all day about my complaints about Chelsea," says Ziyech. "They changed managers all season, and the club was mismanaged. My transfer to Paris Saint-Germain didn't work out either, so it was a really frustrating time for me as a footballer."

It's unclear if Felix and Ziyech's cool, pro-family team sniping will have a happy ending. Both players are on loan and would have to return to their original clubs if the transfer didn't go through. Felix has already done that once, so we'll see if they can put down roots with their new teams.
