Hanwha veteran Jang Min-jae (33) will remain with the Eagles.

The Hanwha Eagles officially announced on July 21 that they have signed free agent pitcher Jang Min-jae for 2+1 years for a total of 800 million won.

The club went on to explain the details of the contract, saying, "Two years of guaranteed 400 million won with an option for 100 million won, and one year of salary of 200 million won with an option for 100 million won."

Jang Min-jae is a one-club man for the Hanwha Eagles, a veteran who has played a vital role in the team, both in the starting lineup and in the middle innings.

The Hanwha Eagles said, "We decided to sign Jang Min-jae as a free agent because we believe that his ability to manage the game based on his excellent fastball and his ability to play long innings will be beneficial to the team."

"Off the field, we expect Jang's love for the team, sincerity, and serious attitude toward baseball to serve as an example for young players," the team added.

After signing the contract, Jang Min-jae said, "I'm happy to be able to join the Hanwha Eagles next season, and I'm grateful to be able to stand in front of our fans who have always been so generous with their support."

"There are many young and promising juniors on our team, and I will fulfill the role of a veteran who can serve as an example to them," Jang continued, "I will take the mound with the mindset of being a player who can help the team whenever they need it."

Jang made his first-team debut in 2010 and appeared in 13 games that year, going 1-0 with a 4.41 ERA (8 earned runs in 16 1/3 innings). The following year, in 2011, he made five starts for the team, going 1-7 with a 6.06 ERA (59 earned runs in 87⅔ innings).

However, perhaps due to the sudden increase in pitching, he eventually tore his elbow in 2012 and underwent surgery in June. In August, he began his military service as a public service worker. After two years of national service, he returned to the first team in 2015. He appeared in four games, pitching only four innings (18.00 ERA) without a win or loss. 토토사이트
